Welcome to the website of the Rowan Amateur Radio Society. Our club is located in Salisbury NC, the county seat and largest city within Rowan County. We are centrally located between the mountains and the coast of North Carolina in an area known as the Piedmont. The Rowan Amateur Radio Society was founded in 1937, and we have been an ARRL affiliated club since 1968! Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM. Guests and new members are always welcome.
The Rowan County NC ARES® Training Net is moving from Wednesday evenings at 8:30pm, to Sunday evenings at 8:30pm beginning December 6, 2015. The net will continue to meet on the N4UH 2 meter repeater which can be found at 145.410 MHz, with a -Negative Offset and a PL Tone of 136.5Hz (Alt Freq.145.410 Simplex). The November 9th meeting of the Rowan Amateur Radio Society will be a special “Field Trip” Program. As such we will NOT be meeting at our regular meeting place on Julian Road. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM.
Instead we will be meeting at the Fibrant Offices located at 1415 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. in Salisbury where member Kent Winrich, K9EZ will show and tell us all about Fibrant and its operation. For more information please see the November 2015 edition of the club’s newsletter “Harmonics“.
