Welcome and thank you for visiting the website of the Rowan Amateur Radio Society. Our club is located in Salisbury NC, the county seat and largest city within Rowan County. We are centrally located between the mountains and the coast of North Carolina in an area known as the Piedmont. The Rowan Amateur Radio Society was founded in 1937, and we have been an ARRL affiliated club since 1968! Our club holds monthly meetings, and you are cordially invited to attend the next one, bring your family and your friends we’ll have a great time.

The annual “Firecracker Hamfest” is Saturday July 10th 2010 starting at 8:00 AM! Now in it’s 15th year, this event will once again be held at the Salisbury Civic Center. Don’t forget Field Day starts tomorrow June 26th!

Members of the Rowan Amateur Radio Society will set up radios and antennas and begin talking to people all around the world at about noon on Saturday at Sloan Park using only alternate/emergency power sources.
