Welcome to the website of the Rowan Amateur Radio Society. Our club is located in Salisbury NC, the county seat and largest city within Rowan County. We are centrally located between the mountains and the coast of North Carolina in an area known as the Piedmont. The Rowan Amateur Radio Society was founded in 1937, and we have been an ARRL affiliated club since 1968! Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM. Details: Join us each Monday Night at 7:00 PM on the N4UH 2m FM Repeater 145.410 MHz, with a -Negative Offset and a PL Tone of 136.5Hz for the "Oath Keepers Net".

The RARS February 2015 Foxhunt will be tomorrow, 02/28/2015.

Breakfast will be at 08:00 at the Checkered Flag Restaurant, located at S. Main St. / Mooresville Rd.

The hunt will begin at 09:00 at the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College parking lot directly behind Arby’s on Jake Alexander Blvd / I-85.

The change of starting points for the hunt is because there is a national gathering of coon hunters at the fairgrounds this weekend.

The 2015 North Carolina QSO Party, March 1st, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, is right around the corner!
The anticipation is growing, as more plans are posted daily for clubs, expeditions, mobile stations, and
single ops around the state. There will be an Emcomm Challenge, and 6 bonuses this year: 4 stations,
which include NI4BK, the Battleship North Carolina in New Hanover Co., K4CIA in Wake Co.,
W4DW in Orange Co., and NC4QP from multiple counties, as well as the two bonus counties of Person and Surry.
There are 21 categories with awards possible, and beautiful trophies. Thank you to those who are sponsoring awards!
