Welcome to the website of the Rowan Amateur Radio Society. Our club is located in Salisbury NC, the county seat and largest city within Rowan County. We are centrally located between the mountains and the coast of North Carolina in an area known as the Piedmont. The Rowan Amateur Radio Society was founded in 1937, and we have been an ARRL affiliated club since 1968! Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM. Details: Join us each Tuesday Night at 9:00 PM on the N4UH 2m FM Repeater 145.410 MHz, with a -Negative Offset and a PL Tone of 136.5Hz for the "Pine Board" rag chew net.

ARES® Net

Starts: 8:30 PM

Ends: 9:00 PM | September 2, 2015

Location: Rowan County, NC

Details: The Rowan County NC ARES® Training Net is held each Wednesday evening at 8:30pm on the N4UH 2 meter repeater which can be found at 145.410 MHz, with a -Negative Offset and a PL Tone of 136.5Hz (Alt Freq.145.410 Simplex).

There will be Amateur Radio Technician Classes Friday, April 17th from 6:00AM-10:00PM, Saturday April 18th from 8:00AM-5:00PM , and Sunday April 19th from 8:00AM-3:00PM at the Red Cross Building at 1930 Jake Alexander Blvd W # B, Salisbury, NC 28147. This is a cram session for those who have been studying for Technician. Class and test is only $10, I don’t have any more books to sell for this class, and I use the Gordon West W5YI course book.

Testing will be around 3PM on Sunday!!!

The RARS February 2015 Foxhunt will be tomorrow, 02/28/2015.

Breakfast will be at 08:00 at the Checkered Flag Restaurant, located at S. Main St. / Mooresville Rd.

The hunt will begin at 09:00 at the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College parking lot directly behind Arby’s on Jake Alexander Blvd / I-85.

The change of starting points for the hunt is because there is a national gathering of coon hunters at the fairgrounds this weekend.
