The Monday January 10, 2011 meeting of the Rowan Amateur Radio Society will begin at 7:00 PM and feature a program on setting up and operating Echolink. This, in response to Echolink being added to the growing list of features the clubs repeaters are sporting.

For those that are totally unfamiliar with Echolink, it is yet another method of communication Amateur Radio Operators use allowing them to connect their stations to each other via the internet in various configurations. One example would be; say your riding around Salisbury, North Carolina USA in your car and you decide to access one of the clubs repeaters using your hand held radio, you could talk to a fellow Ham riding around Sidney Australia in his or her car using a similar walkie talkie type radio, all absolutely free of charge!

Everyone, even non-hams is encouraged to attend, and admission is of course free.
