On Saturday May 31, 2014 at 0900 the Rowan Amateur Radio Society will hold it’s monthly Foxhunt (Also known as Radio Direction Finding or Transmitter Hunting), starting at the Rowan County Fairgrounds. In the event the Fairgrounds are in use, we will move to the parking lot at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

This will not be a competitive event like most of our Foxhunts, instead this will be a training event primarily for the US Marine Corps., but we encourage anyone interested to please join us. If you are new to Foxhunting this would be the perfect opportunity to learn what it is all about.

This is no charge or fees to join in on the fun and the weather looks like it might just cooperate.

The Uwharrie Mountains of North Carolina will provide the locale for the 13th USA Amateur Radio Direction Finding (ARDF) Championships of on-foot hidden transmitter hunting. Fans of this international sport, also known as “foxtailing” or “radio-orienteering,” are making travels plans now. Backwoods Orienteering Klub (BOK) will host the event, which will be held October 8-13.
