KJ4HF 440 RepeaterJune 15, 2008
(Salisbury NC) Ken Clifton-KJ4HF recently announced that the KJ4HF repeater which operated at 444.650mhz, had emergency back-up power, and provided excellent coverage in the downtown area has, as of Saturday 14 June 2008 been decommissioned. The repeater was disassembled and removed from atop the Plaza/Wallace Building located on the square in downtown Salisbury NC. It seems the City of Salisbury was to begin charging a $50/month fee for the privilege of having the repeater at that location beginning 1 July 2008. There are no plans to relocate or reactivate the repeater at this time.
